Top Veteran Player: Antonio Gates
Antonio finally had himself a good game this season. Gates was helping move the chains in the first half and scored a nice touchdown, stretching to get the football over the goal line in the first quarter. He also scored the last points for the Bolts on a touchdown catch with 24 seconds left before halftime. Gates caught six passes for 81 yards.
Top Defensive Player: Eric Weddle
Eric had another solid game with great tackles on Broncos running back Hillman inside their own ten-yard line in the second quarter. He was in Manning’s face, coming with pressure off the edge on the right side when Manning threw his interception to Jammer who ran it back for a pick six, along with deflecting the football on a Manning throw in the fourth quarter.
Top Offensive Player: Malcom Floyd
Malcom wasn’t really seen much this game because he was matched up against Champ Bailey. He did have five catches for 60 yards and made some first downs, and he had a nice catch over the middle for 25 yards in the first quarter.
Top Special Teams Player: Darrell Stuckey
Stuckey had a good game on special teams for the Bolts. He stripped the ball out of the Broncos kick return man’s hands on a first quarter kickoff return. This turnover led to the first Antonio Gates touchdown of the game. He also downed a punt from Mike Scifres around the Broncos two-yard line in the second quarter. On the second half kickoff, Stuckey made a good tackle on the Broncos kick returner to give the Broncos their starting field position at their own 15 yard line.
Top Rookie: Mike Harris
Mike Harris did well against Elvis Dumerville in the first half and most of the game. He held Dummerville to three tackles and one for a loss at the start of the third quarter.
