Rock The Bolt And Give Me A High Five: Chargers vs Chiefs

Here are my Top Five Chargers players against the Chiefs:

Source: Zimbio.com

Top Defensive Player: Corey Liuget

The Chargers defense played well this week. Let me rephrase: The defensive line of the Chargers played very well! They got pressure up front, forced fumbles and gave the Chargers offense great starting field position off those turnovers. The first fumble from Charles was forced by Liuget. Corey had a great game. He caused the first fumble, sacked Cassel and recovered a fumble from Cassel that was caused by Vaughn Martin. Liuget was just involved in the play making for the defense in this game.

Top Offensive Player: Jared Gaither

Gaither finally played this season in this game. It must have been a relief to Rivers for having him back. They needed him for sure in this game to keep Tamba Hali off Rivers. Jared played well for the most part and gave Rivers time to throw the ball down field in the first half on the Chargers scoring drives early in the game. Let’s hope he can stay healthy this season. Other notable players on offense: Jackie Battle who played well in his start and got some good runs and touchdowns. Also, Ryan Mathews moved the chains and had some good runs toward the end of the game as well.

Top Special Teams Player: Nick Novak

Novak played well in his first game as a Chargers (again). He didn’t kick a lot of field goals but when he did, he made them and looked to be happy and energized to be out on the field again.

Top Veteran Player: Antonio Gates

Gates had a very good first half in this game! He was moving the chains for the Chargers offense which setup the early touchdowns in the game. He made Eric Berry WORK in the first half! Barry could not cover Gates and left him easy lanes on his routes to make easy catches and pick up good yards after the catch. Always good seeing Gates do his thing on the field in a win!

Top Rookie Player: Melvin Ingram

Melvin was part of the Defense doing well this week he batted a pass down from Cassel and was part of the defense which stopped Jamaal Charles from having a good game.

I think da Off. line did a good job vs a good Def & loud stadium. They gave PR a lil bit more time Xcept on a few occasions & he delivered Xcept 4 dat int. Butler is a Beast as well as Ingram & Leguit. People wanna say Cassel handed us da game but our Def forced him into errant throws by pressuring him & wearing him down.Defense also forced Charles 2 cough up da ball 2x.

@Guellermo Pedroza   I agree! the O-line did well against KCs 2 edge pass rushers for the most part. Gaither was needed for sure or else mike harris was gonna get killed against Hali. Butler is a solid player for sure! Ingram has made plays in spots. Luiget was good to see making plays since he hadn't been seen much. Cassel isn't on target with his down field throws which is why all he threw were short mid range throws toward the sidelines and over the middle. Once he has to throw deep he either over throws or the ball is to high and out of reach for the WRs. Charles fumbling was a surprise and a good one. The Bolts must have seen something on how Charles was carrying the ball on Sunday and just went after it. Thanks for commenting and reading.
